What to expect from your Banff wedding photographer

I want to take some time to let you know what you can expect from me as your Banff wedding photographer. It is important to me that you are STOKED when you make the decision to hire me! I want you to be just as excited all the way through the process! You’re likely not experienced in hiring a wedding photographer, so how should you know what to expect?

First step – inquire

I will respond within 48 hours of receiving your enquiry to let you know if I am available for your date. I’ll send links to full wedding galleries, pricing details, and any information I think you’ll find helpful based off what you send me in your inquiry. If I am not available, I will check with photographers whose work I admire. That way I’m able to send you a list of incredible photographers who still have your date available. I want to make this as easy and stress free as I can for you!

Get to know each other over a zoom or coffee!

If we are local, we can meet up in person, but chatting over Zoom works just as well! It gives you and your partner an opportunity to ask me questions and get to know me! If you can’t imagine anyone else capturing your day then we will make it official! I want to hear all about your plans and what will be the most important moments of the day. My goal is for you to have what you dream of having to look back on to remember this day forever.

The week of the big day!

We will have the meeting we scheduled when I sent you the questionnaire. During this time I will make sure there have been no last minute changes to your timeline. I’ll confirm your getting ready locations, as they are often not finalized until very close to the date.

On the day

WOOHOO! You’re getting married finally!

You two enjoy the incredible day that you worked so hard to plan, and I’m of course THRILLED to be your Banff wedding photographer! I document not only the memories you make, but even moments you may have missed! With my documentary approach, I tell the full story of your day from start to finish. I keep an eye on the timeline to ensure we stay on schedule and I coordinate family photos from the list you gave me in your questionnaire a month before.

The week after your wedding

You’ll receive a few preview pictures, and I will share them to my Instagram to show off what a stunning day you had! Your images will be optimized so you can share them with friends and family right away! I will get started editing your images right away!

6-8 weeks after your wedding

You will get an email from me to give you a heads up when you full gallery is nearly ready! In that email, I will ask you to set up a date night to relive these memories for the first time together. On your date night your gallery will be sent over. You will be able to forward it to your friends and family instantly as well.

2-6 days after receiving your gallery

We will dive into the design for your heirloom album (click here to view more). You will have a chance to make all the changes you want to customize it exactly the way you envision. Select colours, materials, engravings, and add/remove any images. Once you’ve approved the design, it will be sent to my lab. Your families first heirloom will be in your hands in 5-6 weeks later. If you’re not sure why you need an album, you can read this well written blog post from Juliana.

Is that the end?

It doesn’t have to be! I’ve photographed many adventure sessions and vow renewals, and would LOVE to be a part of yours!

I hope this has helped you to understand what to expect from me as your Banff wedding photographer! If you have any questions pop over to my contact page!
